Our general pedagogical aims are to enhance the pupil’s skills for future life and studies. Education and schoolwork will help the pupil to develop positive strategies and attitudes toward society and the requirements of the modern world.We also emphasize
- The quality of basic teaching through all grades
- Music-oriented classes together with other schools in the district
- The pedagogical development of computer-aided teaching
- Club activitites supervised by both parents and teachers The development of co-operation between homes and school

We are internationally involved in
- A music project called ’Eurotastic’ with schools in Austria, Belgium, Italy and Poland
- E-mail projects with schools in the USA and Australia
- Previous projects have included a ’water project’ with schools in England, France and Spain, a web project called ’Eurotales’ with 4 European schools, and a web project on interactive learning with another school in Oulu (the project was awarded the Microsoft ’Road Ahead’ –prize in 1998)
